Creating a quiz on Absurd Trivia is very simple.
Step one
The first thing you need to do is decide on a topic for your quiz. The topic can be pretty much anything you like, for example it could be on a movie, a television show, a celebrity or maybe just a general knowledge quiz. The most important thing is that you choose a topic which you know a lot about and can comfortably come up with at least 10 questions which will match the topic.
Step two
Once you've decided on a topic the next thing to do is choose the category on the site where your quiz should go. So if for example you decided to create a quiz on the television show "Frasier", you would first go to the television show category, then to the category for TV shows beginning with F, and then to the category for Frasier. Or a simpler way would be to use the search function type "Frasier" and it should return the correct category for you.
A lot of times you may want to create a quiz on a category which does not yet exist, in this case you should add your quiz to the nearest available category. So if you want to add a quiz on a television show beginning with the letter 'S' then you would go to the television shows category for TV shows beginning with the letter S.
Step three
Once you have found the most appropriate category for your new quiz, you should see a blue button with the text "ADD A QUIZ TO THIS CATEGORY". Clicking this button will allow you to begin creating your quiz..
Step four
At this stage you should be seeing something similar to the image below.
The page contains two sections, the top section confirms the category which you have chosen. In the example image it was the category for "Frasier". If this is showing the correct category for your quiz you can just hit the button titled "Continue with the current category"
However, if it is displaying the wrong category than you can use the search box in section two to help you find the correct category.
Step five
After confirming that you've chosen the correct category you will then be presented with a screen similar to the one below.
Here you need to enter three pieces of information. The quiz title, the quiz description, and some player notes.
Quiz title
This is where you enter the title for your quiz. Please try to be imaginative when titling your quiz. For example, if you were creating a quiz on the sitcom "Frasier" you should not title your quiz, "Frasier Quiz" or "Frasier Trivia" etc. Instead some better titles might be "All about Niles", in which the questions are all about Niles, or "Frasier guest stars" in which the questions are all about celebrity guest appearances.Quiz description
The quiz description should give more information about what your quiz is going to be about for example is it a general quiz, is all about one character, are all the questions about quotes etc so again for our Frasier example some descriptions might be, "Multiple choice questions all about Daphne" or "general knowledge questions from the first season".Player notes
This section is optional, anything you enter here will appear on the quiz page at the very top before the player begins. It is useful to provide any information which the player may need before beginning your quiz.
Once you've provided all the necessary information and clicked the "Save quiz details" button, you should be presented with a page confirming that your quiz was added successfully and that you can begin adding your questions.
What Next...
At this stage you have completed the basic setup for your new quiz, and it has been saved for you in the "Your quiz manager" section of the site. You will be able to access this new quiz at any time by clicking on the link in the left menu titled to "Your quiz manager".
Because it takes time to create a quality quiz, we have designed the system to allow you to add your questions over a timeframe which suits you. You do not need to add all of your questions at the same time, instead you can add a few save them and come back the next day to add some more. Please note however that other players will not be able to play your quiz until you have finished adding your questions and have activated the quiz.
